Practice Owner Dr. Chris Kohnen graduated from Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, and served four years in the U.S. Army. He is a devoted husband and father of two daughters, Delaney and Jenna, and a son, Kody. Dr. Kohnen also has two dogs, Sarah and Bogie, and three cats Skylar, Coal, and Chloe. Dr. Kohnen is locally famous as “The Dog Dude”. |

Assoiciate DVM Dr. Sarah Heineman is a 2009 graduate of Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She is originally from Greenbrae, California and grew up in Humble, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. Dr Heineman has an Italian Greyhound named Giselle and a cat named Chloe.

Veterinary Technician Jennifer has been a veterinary technician for over 15 years. It was her first job and she fell in love. She has a beautiful vibrant daughter and a wonderful husband. She has 3 cats, Saleen, Hemi, & Reba, 2 birds, Willy & Tippy, a ferret, Barret the ferret, and 3 Jack Russell’s, Cali, Coupe, and Shelby.

Veterinary Technician Kris is a veterinary technician and has been with BCAH for four years. She is currently attending college. She has trained dogs for obedience and agility for 10 years. She has a 5 year old Australian cattle dog named Reba who is also a therapy dog. Reba currently competes in agility, obedience, and tracking. Kris also has a cat named Kiara who has the biggest personality ever. |

Receptionist Kaila Anne is a veterinary receptionist and has been with BCAH for the last 8 months. She has previous experience working as a receptionist in an emergency animal hospital. She is originally from New Braunfels, Texas but currently resides in San Antonio. She has two dogs, Bear, a great pyrenese, and, King, a great dane. She also has two cats BK and Sanchez.

Technician Assistant Stephanie is a Technician Assistant who is currently attending James Madison High School as a Senior. She is enrolled for college at Palo Alto to become a Veterinary Technician. She was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. She is the proud owner of an energetic Dalmation named Nala.

Hospital Manager Kim is a born and raised Air Force brat. She has lived all over the world and now calls San Antonio home. Kim has worked in the veterinary field for over 16 years. Kim has been at BCAH since its opening and is happy to have found the ultimate job and work environment. Kim spends her downtime by cooking, reading, playing golf and spending time with family and friends. Kim is happily married to her husband, Jim, and is the proud momma to her Terrier mixes Toffee and Bagger . |

Receptionist Lin was raised in Victoria, Texas and has lived in San Antonio for the last 12 years. She is happily married to her husband, Ben, and they have a 4 year old son named Benjamin. Lin is also the proud momma of her Bengal cat, Roxy. Lin has previous veterinary experience and began working at BCAH in the spring of 2009 and is excited to be working with animals once again. In her free time, she enjoys making pottery, reading and spending time with family and friends. |

Technician Assistant Wendi was born in Biloxi, Mississippi and raised in Florida. Wendi has only been with us a few short months but is a valued addition to our team. She hopes to continue her career in the veterinary field as it is her passion and she enjoys it. Wendi has a 9 month old mutt puppy named Grandpa Chunk. |

Veterinary Technician Natalie is a Registered Veterinary Technician who graduated from Palo Alto College in 2006. She absolutely loves what she does and has a great passion for animals. She has six animals of her own, 3 cats, Tonka, Jnxy, and Diva, and Debo the Pug, Roxy the Boxer/Pitt mix, and newest addition Otis the Golden Doodle |
